The weapons are real - the action is real. This is the world’s most spectacular full-contact sport - no holds barred. From the disciplined and chivalric mounted skills to the full force, full contact joust, The Order of the Boar is New Zealand’s own medieval equestrian and jousting historical re-enactment group. We specialise in recreating aspects of the medieval tournament along with related Living History activities from the second half of the 14th century (1350 - 1400 AD). The group is one of the pioneers in rediscovering the art of jousting and its development as a modern sport both in New Zealand and around the world

We perform at many functions and are happy to discuss your needs. Our performance standard is high, our costuming eye-catching. The Awadim of Belisha can come to your event, dance and disappear - or come, dance and offer your party-goers a 'how to' taster session! Burlesque: If you are feeling a little cheeky, choose Chaos & Mayhem - burlesque performers extraordinaire with the emphasis on the tease! Glamorous, dynamic and somewhat cheeky dancing ... book them for a sizzling event. Medieval: Planning a Medieval-themed event? Our Medieval troupe may be just right - offering both peasant folk dances and more formal courtly dances. Belisha's Medieval dancers will show, tell ... and teach your participants some Medieval moves. If you have an extra-special Medieval event, consider the Northern Horde for some authentic combat too!

This is an event hosted by the Company of the Sable Hart. Historic merriment, Knightly fights, mumming plays, massed battles, historic arts and sciences in the Living History encampment. There will be a Medieval market with traders. Theatricals, entertainments knightly tournament - swords will clash and arrows fly! Come along to watch the wondrous armoured combat, or enjoy taking part in 'have a go' activties - arts, crafts and rumbustious dance. Take up the offer to shoot-a-knight, or sit in the stocks, or visit the encampment to learn about camp life. of their chosen historic period. Traders display their artisan's skills, selling crafts. The splendid Rosewood will be set the musical flavour, using their authentic and unusual instruments

Rosewood is a duo from the Bay of Islands, New Zealand who play a wide range of traditional and contemporary music with a strong European and Middle Eastern flavour. This is great ambient music for those who would like the mood a little different, whether a European cafe, a medieval banquet or a Middle Eastern hafla. The use of authentic and unusual instruments also provides a distinctive sound and point of interest.
